“Here at Pursuit, we believe in truly solving the problem that is the root cause of your pain, using the best possible treatment, and getting you better faster in the fewest amount of visits needed. This is the principle that I built Pursuit Physical Therapy on and what continues to make us successful in helping the people of Orlando get great results and pain-free again.”

Dr. Ron Miller is the owner and founder of Pursuit Physical Therapy. Dr. Miller received his Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In 2008, he received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of South Carolina where he also published his dissertation: “The change in the diffusion of water in normal and degenerative lumbar intervertebral discs following joint mobilization compared to prone lying” to study the effects of manual therapy in the treatment of low back pain using new DWI technology with MRIs. He then went on to complete a Post-Doctoral Residency in Orthopedic Physical Therapy at Florida Hospital, where he furthered his specialized training and published research: “Application of Regional Interdependence in a 20-Year-Old Male Baseball Player with Recurrent Non-Specific Low Back Pain: A Retrospective Case Report”, highlighting a new treatment concept of how impairments in other neighboring joints influence the primary complaint of pain. Dr. Miller is credentialed by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) as a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist. Dr. Miller also has advanced manual therapy training with the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy. He is considered an expert in orthopedic physical therapy and has published multiple research manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Miller is an active member of the APTA, Florida Physical Therapy Association (FPTA), American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapist (AAOMPT), and is currently elected as an Assembly Representative for the East Central District of the FPTA. Dr. Miller is also adjunct faculty for the University of Central Florida Doctorate of Physical Therapy program where he is actively participating in current physical therapy research. Dr. Miller’s special interests include the treatment of cervical and low back pain, spinal disorders, sports injuries, manual therapy, golf-related injuries, running injuries, and solving complex patient cases that have failed other treatment approaches. He prides himself on getting his patients better faster, by using the most current evidenced-based interventions, and doing what is best for the patient’s goals.

His core belief is that it is not about the physician, the physical therapist, or the insurance company: it is about what is truly best for the patient. Dr. Miller lives in Orlando, FL, and enjoys promoting a healthy lifestyle, running, golfing, reading, and spending time with his better half Haley and 8 month old daughter Sienna.
